Being willing to dial in your snare drum sound by tuning your snare side head and batter head can make all the difference.
In the past, I was so set on keeping my resonant side head always tuned up and adjusting my batter head to taste.
For the majority of situations that I find myself in, that seems to work a good amount of the time with a couple of exceptions.
Yet, when I’m using a thinner drum head or a clear drum head and tuning it low, it doesn’t last long.
The combination of how I hit and the lack of tension prohibits the impact from dispersing evenly, causing the head to take the brunt impact of the stick hitting it. In turn, this causes denting in the head.
Being willing to experiment with retuning the batter and the snare side head helps distribute tension equally.
This slight adjustment creates a balanced feel and tension between the two heads and the drum's overall tone.
It’s sometimes the things that you least expect that can make the difference!
Anyways, have a wonderful day!! Love you guys! Stay Safe! Okay. Byeeeee.
