Don’t put your snare drums into a sonic box!
Just because this 1970s Rogers 14” x 5” R-360 steel shell snare drum was a student model doesn’t mean it’s a terrible snare drum.
Over the years, the phrase “student model” has gotten a bad rep because we associate that with “inexpensive” drums that are what they are.
So when we come across a drum like the Rogers R-360 we would write it off because it was just a starter snare compared to some of the higher-end drums made during that time.
Yet, after giving this snare some TLC with new wires, heads, and throw-off/butt the drum came to life and might be one of my favorite-sounding snare drums I own.
This process shows that you can’t just write off a drum because of what it was perceived to be. Be willing to give it a chance to see what it can do.
It might just surprise you!
I love you guys!! Okay. Byeeeee. ????????????????❤️????????
