day 5 of 30
Keeping expectations in check is always a challenge. Sometimes what I envision in my head is nowhere close to what I make. Today was one of those occasions. I joke in today’s post that I don’t like the piece I made on day 5 of the challenge.
While this is true, it is because the piece didn’t match my expectations, and I would definitely chalk this one up to a failure (which is still exciting because failure is where I learn my best lessons).
That said, there is still some merit to the piece: I’ve learned that, aesthetically this is not my style but it might be someone else's. I also found myself trying out a couple new strategies for rolling and hollowing clay. And, not to spoil day 6, but I learned also that I can always try changing the things I don’t like.
