(???? recommend) (Read below)
It has been an experience, in the best way possible, of getting to know this Williams Drum Co 12” x 7” Acacia stave snare drum.
Through this process, I have learned to adjust my approach because of its construction and building structure.
Here are some reasons why I had to adjust my approach.
For starters, I had to change my tuning approach because of how thick the shell is (7/16” thickness) and the unique hand-made round-over outer/45°inner bearing edges.
If I tuned it too low, it would sound dead, so I had to ensure I was tensioning the batter and snare side drum heads high enough to generate tone out of the drum.
You would think this is a no-brainer, but it’s something I had to keep in mind.
Regarding the bearing edges, they give you a lot of drum shell-to-drum head contact while also mellowing out the tone.
This detail is why a fresh approach with this drum was so important.
But believe me, there is so much more to learn about this snare drum, and I’m excited to continue this journey.
Anyways, have a great rest of the week. I love you guys!! Okay. Byeeeee. ????????????????❤️????????
