Renowned Yolŋu artist Naminapu Maymuru-White has been invited to exhibit at the Venice Biennale, one of the world’s most prestigious international arts events.
Her works represent her clan’s Milŋiyawuy songline, through depictions of the stars in the sky and their reflections in the rivers flowing through the lands of Arnhem Land’s Yirritja moiety clans.
Ms Maymuru-White will travel to the Venice Biennale in July, along with her 24-year-old grandson.
