It has taken more than a month for First Nations artists to be paid for their services to the Synergy festival in Tasmania, but organisers say it might be months until everyone is paid.

The festival ran at a loss, with organisers blaming higher running costs and a typical late surge in ticket purchases not eventuating.

Palawa educator Craig Everett says he is reconsidering lending his services to other events after the experience and organisers say an event planned for February is now under review.
