If you’re familiar with snare drum rudiments, you probably know the paradiddle — that classic sticking pattern:
R L R R – L R L L

But did you know you can use rudiments like the paradiddle to add texture, control, and flow to your tongue drum playing?
✨ It’s not just for drumlines anymore!

Here’s how to try it:
✅ Pick two notes on your tongue drum
✅ Assign one to your right hand and one to your left
✅ Play the paradiddle pattern (R L R R – L R L L) slowly
✅ Then speed it up or shift to new notes as you get comfortable

It’s a powerful way to build coordination and explore rhythmic phrasing in a new way. Plus, it sounds so good when the tones alternate and bounce!
