Do you approach playing live & playing in the studio differently?
Before we jump into this conversation, let’s define the differences in a live VS. studio situation.
There are a lot of uncontrollable factors that play into a live situation. A few could be the room, sound system, room treatment, and playing with other musicians.
On the other hand, in the studio, you have control over the room's sound treatment and microphone choice, and you can isolate a specific instrument to get a clear and more focused sound.
Because of these differences, how you tune, play, and dampen your drums is extremely important.
It can only enhance how you shape that sound to allow it to serve that music the best.
Just remember, there are a lot of things in recording situations that can enhance a live experience and vice versa. Understanding both and how you can maximize them is how one can set themselves apart from other musicians.
I hope this helps, have a wonderful day!! I love you guys! Stay Safe! Okay. Byeeeee.
