This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible.
We are driving the 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The Mustang is a RWD model and the manual is no longer available with this engine. Ford tells us the uptake for the manual was only 10% for this powertrain.
There is a more powerful 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible GT model with a 5L V8 and a standard 6-speed manual transmission with rev matching or an available 10-speed automatic, 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. The uptake for the manual in this model is about 40%, that’s a big difference between the two.
The 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible Dark Horse is the most powerful Mustang, with a modified 5L V8 with a TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission, 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque.
The 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible is a blast to drive whether you are on a twisty road, in the city or spending the day at the track. It’s a head turner, even this 2.3L Ecoboost sounds great in sport mode and it’s really hard to beat a convertible on a summer day.
The 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible comes standard with a 13.2” touchscreen with SYNC 4, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 12.4” digital instrument cluster, 9-speaker audio system, 6-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, 4-way power passenger seat, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, push button start and Ford Co-Pilot360.
Although the 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible is a smaller 4-seater, it’s nice having the rear seat for small children or just throwing bags in the back. The trunk is very deep and can fit two golf bags.
In Canada, the 2025 Ford Mustang Convertible Ecoboost Convertible starts at $45,358, Ecoboost Premium Convertible $48,572 and the GT Premium Convertible $60,677.
