I recreated a bizarre "Rainbow Demon" from a 15th-century manuscript using Cosclay, Super Sculpey, and a frankly dangerous amount of wool stabbing. In this mixed-media sculpture build, I team up with fabric wizard Georgie to bring the "Rainbow Bastard of Flanders" to life. Dragged out of the Lauds section of a Book of Hours, this creature represents the full spectrum of sin - every vice stitched into one shimmering hide.

IN THIS VIDEO: We dive into the "Bastarda" font, the weirdness of medieval marginalia, and why this specific demon is hiding in the dawn prayers. Then, we build him. Georgie handles the "fiber shanking" (needle felting) to create the rainbow pelt, while I use Cosclay and Super Sculpey to sculpt the bastard's face and disembodied legs.
