Pa Janvier (fiddle lesson)

This Cajun song is best known from the recordings by Cedric Watson and Denis McGee. In this fiddle lesson I show the basic melody, a set of ornaments, and then the same thing played in Cajun Tuning, with all four strings tuned down a whole step. This helps to make sense of the ornamentation and demonstrates the value of retuning. A free pdf of the sheet music for Pa Janvier is available to subscribers (see below).
