K-엔터: 스트레이키즈, 미국 빌보드 앨범 차트 8연속 1위

Time for K-enter news with Walter. Let's start off with news on Stray Kids.

Yes, one of the biggest male K-pop groups at the moment, Stray Kids, has claimed its 8th No.1 on the "Billboard 200 Albums Chart" as the recent release "DO IT" debuted and crushed competitors to take the top spot. Billboard said Sunday, Stray Kids have now become the first act to debut at No.1 with its first eight entries in the 69-year history of the chart! Stray Kids knocked Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl" off the top spot after 8 weeks. She slips to No.3 behind the very popular "Wicked: For Good" soundtrack at No.2.

Stray Kids also made an appearance at the 2025 MAMA Awards, which took place over the weekend, and as we reported before, there were some changes to the proceedings due to a recent tragedy

The MAMA Awards paid tribute to the victims of the recent Hong Kong apartment fires, with host Park Bo-gum appearing on the first night with a black ribbon pinned to his suit and leading a moment of silence. The typically flashy, high-energy stage effects were set aside, and the ceremony unfolded in a subdued atmosphere.

Though there was a serious undertone that didn't take away the glory from the winners of the night which included, G-Dragon, being honoured as Artist of the Year, Stray Kids taking home Album of the Year for "Karma", BLACKPINK's Rosé winning Song of the Year with "APT.," Enhypen receiving the Fans’ Choice of the Year award, and the rookie groups Cortis and Hearts2Hearts being recognised as Best New Artists.

An appropriate and sensitive move to make last minute and while it is a sad time for people in Hong Kong, many Korean stars and companies tried their best to help out in some way? Tell us more.

On Sunday, G-Dragon’s agency, Galaxy Corp, announced that he would be donating 1 million Hong Kong dollars, roughly 128 thousand USD, to support the recovery of the fire's victims as well as to assist firefighters and volunteers working on rescue and recovery efforts. Other artists and agencies made similar donations; groups such as Super Junior, aespa, and RIIZE added their contributions. Groups I-DLE, IVE, BOYNEXTDOOR, sub-unit Exo-CBX , and TWS also donated to victims affected by the fires.

JYP Entertainment donated to World Vision Hong Kong for emergency relief and post-disaster rebuilding, and Stray Kids made an additional personal donation on top of their agency’s contribution. YG Entertainment also donated a large sum and HYBE Music Group’s six APAC labels all donated to the Korea Disaster Relief Association.
CJ Group, the organiser of the “2025 MAMA Awards”, donated 20 million Hong Kong dollars, just over 2.5 million USD, to the support fund.
