A first-call bassist since settling in NYC in the early 1990s, Johannes' credentials include the Hank Jones Trio, Ray Barretto's New World Spirit, Carl Allen-Vincent Herring Quintet, John Abercrombie Quartet, Joe Lovano Trio & Kenny Werner's longstanding Trio.
Other associations include Brad Mehldau, George Benson, John Scofield, Dewey Redman, Randy Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, Toots Thielemans, Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Gary Bartz, Johnny Coles, Clifford Jordan, Joe Chambers.
Johannes' warm full sound, mastery of time, lyrical solos and flexibility & openness have made him one of the most sought-after bassists in a wide variety of musical settings.
