Tech Tip Tuesday: Folded Paper Dampener.
.
.
.
Before we start, I wanted to clarify that no tip or trick solves knowing how to tune your drums. Learning to tune your drums will always exceed any drum hack you learn.
If you are a drummer that likes an opened yet controlled tone, then this hack is for you.
Let me first explain how I made this paper dampener. Start with folding a piece of paper into a rectangle, taping the ends together, and attaching it to the drum head with gaffer tape.
Whether on a gig or in a session, sometimes other dampening options take away too much of the fundamental tone.
This dampening hack is another option that allows the fundamental tone to have the freedom to speak musically while still being focused and controlled.
This concept is not an end-all-be-all-dampening trick.
It’s just another tool you can add to your toolbox of options to help you shape your sound to serve the music the best.
What do you guys think? Have you ever given this experiment a try? If you tried it, did you like the sound? Leave a comment. Let’s talk about it! ????????❤️????????
Stay creative, and have a great rest of the week. Love you guys!! Okay. Byeeeee. ????????????????❤️????????
