Le MBAM transporte le public dans une France en pleine ébullition artistique au tournant du vingtième siècle, dans l’exposition «Paris au temps du postimpressionnisme : Signac et les Indépendants».À travers plus de 500 œuvres issues d’une collection privée d’exception, le plus important corpus d’œuvres de Paul Signac, le public découvre un ensemble grandiose de peintures et d’œuvres graphiques de Signac et des avant-gardes, des impressionnistes (Monet et Morisot) aux fauves (Dufy, Friesz, Marquet) : symbolistes (Gauguin, Redon), nabis (Bonnard, Denis, Lacombe, Sérusier, Ranson, Vallotton), néo-impressionnistes (Cross, Luce, Pissarro, Seurat, Van Rysselberghe) et témoins de la vie parisienne (Anquetin, Degas, Ibels, Lautrec, Picasso, Steinlen).
