It amazes me how many photographers continue taking images and only view the short preview of their previous image on the back of their camera screen...

I can't tell you how often I've heard my clients say, "I came home, and all my shots were blurry." This doesn't need to happen! I ALWAYS review my images in the field, and you should, too.

First, I recommend turning off your camera's automatic image review. It takes up battery power and doesn't give you useful information when previewing. Instead, manually review your images after you take them. Technically, you don't need to do this for EVERY image if you're shooting a burst, but anytime you move your composition, you should review your images.

Simply press the image review button, and then ZOOM IN. This is the most important part. Once zoomed, scroll around, looking for proper focus as well as a subject that is tack-sharp. The two biggest mistakes people make are missing their focus point or using a shutter speed that is too slow for whatever they're shooting. Both of these issues will be obvious when you zoom in on your photo. If you've made a mistake, simply reshoot. Getting it right in the camera is much easier than scrambling in post-processing to fix an image you didn't review in the field.
