In this video I present a simplified arrangement of the classic jazz standard "Autumn Leaves" (music by Joseph Kosma), featuring sheet music, chord symbols, and harmonic analysis. The simplification comes from omitting the fifth in each chord; while the fifth is less defining in seventh chords and in triads, the overall harmonic sense remains intact, providing an easy-to-play version that preserves the progression’s feel. Naturally, in the case of a half-d diminished chord (F♯m7b5 in this arrangement), the absence of the diminished fifth is perceptible, but the sound remains acceptable. Click the related video below to see the full arrangement with complete chords.
