The International Council of Traditional Sports and Games (ICTSG) is committed to promoting and safeguarding traditional sports and games worldwide, fostering cultural exchange and understanding through our shared heritage. ICTSG's inception dates back to MINEPS III in 1999, where UNESCO was entrusted by Member States to champion traditional sports and games. Through subsequent seminars and meetings, stakeholders unanimously endorsed the establishment of ICTSG during the 2nd Collective Consultation Meeting in Iran in 2009. Recognized for its pivotal role, UNESCO and Member States designated ICTSG as the primary platform for overseeing and managing traditional sports and games globally during the fourth Collective Consultation Meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018.
