I tried teaching myself to 3d sculpt these past few months since this pandemic began. I guess my means to keep myself preoccupied and I had this desire to design custom toys for my kids and for myself for years now. Thanks to my friends who contributed their inputs in the creation of this piece. Also a lot of credits goes to https://journeytothewestresearch.com for providing extensive resource on how Sun Wukong should look like based on the Chinese literature. I was a fan of the old tv show Journey To The West, I remembered watching it as a kid and and amused me because it captured my interest in the martial arts and fantastical things.
I'm still new to 3d printing and 3d sculpting but I'm very happy with my learning progress here. If all things went accordingly I might release some designer toys/ sculptures in the future. I used zbrush as my sculpting software and Creality Ender 3 Pro as my printer to create this Monkey King figurine.
