In 2021, The College of Communication, Fine Arts & Media of the University of Nebraska at Omaha commissioned a solo double bass composition from Xavier Foley, which also was to be premiered by him. The 2021 premiere was virtual, since there were still some restrictions on live public performances at UNO. However, Xavier was kind enough to do a master class with UNO double bass students, and that was allowed to be live and in-person (although with a small audience). Xavier dedicated "Perseverance" to the students of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This video was originally hosted on the UNO School of Music Youtube channel as per the commissioning agreement, but recently, all of the videos on that channel had to be taken down, so I'm hosting it here at UNOdoublebass.
