Why should EVERYBODY learn Unchained by Van Halen?!?! Cause it's one of Eddie's masterpieces with so much we can learn about tone, harmony, effects, chord voicing, tapping, whammy bar tricks, and so much more!!! This song first appeared on Fair Warning back in 1981, and it became an instant classic, thanks in part to that absolutely incredible main riff, which may be the best riff Eddie ever wrote.... maybe! There's too many to choose from!
This song is a masterclass in all things EVH, and we're gonna talk about all the great things you can learn from it. There's intelligent songwriting tricks, cool harmony, odd time signatures in that pre chorus riff, and all kinds of other goodies waiting for you!
