Evert Jan Boks (born April 18, 1838, in Beekbergen – died June 14, 1914, in Antwerp) was a Dutch-Belgian painter known for his genre scenes and portraits. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he won a first prize in 1863 as well as the prestigious Prix de Rome, before settling permanently in Antwerp and actively engaging in the local art scene. Boks frequently exhibited in Belgium and at the Paris Salons, and was awarded the Order of Leopold by the Belgian government for his work.
