US To Withdraw Obsolete F-15 Eagles From Japan That Has Been In Operation For More Than 30 Years, Quoted from the Website Kadena Air Base, Team Kadena bids F-15 Eagle farewell as phased withdrawal begins. The 18th Wing bids farewell to several F-15 Eagles from Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, December 1, 2022. The U.S. commitment to regional deterrence and the defense of Japan is ironclad. As part of its modernization plan, the United States Air Force is retiring the F-15 C/D Eagle fleet of aircraft that has been in service for more than 30 years.

Advanced fighters to temporarily deploy to Kadena through phased F-15 withdrawal. This marks the first departure of Eagles as a part of their phased withdrawal from Kadena.
