Ugo Rondinone (Brunnen, Switzerland, 1964) is a multidisciplinary artist who is very difficult to define. He uses elemental shapes and symbolic elements as hyper-realistic sculptures. The most artificial meets the most realistic in occasionally psychedelic creations. He worked for some time as an assistant to Hermann Nitsch and today lives and works in New York. On a web page of the Tamayo Museum dedicated to an exhibition of the artist held last year, we read:

"Rondinone is recognized as one of the great voices of his generation. An artist who proposes scathing reflections on nature and the human condition, while establishing a formal and organic vocabulary in which he fuses a wide variety of sculptural and pictorial traditions. His generous and expansive vision of nature has resulted in a wide range of two- and three-dimensional objects, installations, videos, and performances."
