Try these tips to improve your drumming. ????

✅ 1: Change your throne height!

Ideally you want your butt to sit higher than your knees, so that your thighs slant forwards slightly.

This will help your posture and let you use your legs more freely. ????

✅ 2: Adjust your cymbal angles!

Sit at your kit and hold your stick out in front of you, pointing straight forwards. If your cymbals are higher up than this, angle them towards you. If they are lower, keep them horizontal or even try angling them away from you.

The higher or lower, the steeper the angle.

This will make it easier to hit them in the right way. ????

✅ 3: Change the heads!

Old and worn out heads can feel much more tiring to play, with their reduced bounce and response. They also tend to sound worse when they're old and beat up...

It's always more fun to play on drums that sound great, so try changing the heads and make sure you learn how to tune them well! ????

✅ 4: Try a new setup!

Maybe the reason your kit feels bad to play is because you haven't found your ideal setup yet. Keep moving things around and experimenting!

Doing this also makes you a more versatile drummer in general, since you learn how to adapt your playing to the setup at hand. ????

We can always improve our hand and foot technique further. Good technique makes everything feel better and more effortless to play.
