Villagers collect kaolin—a soft white mineral—from deep in the mining fields. The chunks are crushed using a water-powered leebo, then strained and mixed with water to form smooth porcelain clay. Shaped by hand and detailed with fine tools, each sculpture is painted with natural dyes and fired in a kiln to create a firm, polished finish.
