Herman Rusch bought the Prairie Moon Dance Pavilion after retiring from working on a farm, and filled it with curiosities beloved by his community. When he sold it, it was used as a dog kennel for over a decade before being bought and restored by the Kohler Foundation - yes, the people who make sinks and toilets. Eventually, they gifted it back to its local community, who cares for it to this day.
This is just one of many strange and wonderful art environments you can visit for free driving across the cow-dotted landscape of Wisconsin. Perfect for a calm summer road trip!
