A lounging brick house facade radiates chillaxing vibes.

*The Script*

Look at this lounging brick house facade just chillin’ out.

So is sculptor Alex Chinneck who created it.

Chinneck likes to bend reality with distortions that grow out of familiar surroundings. But he usually takes on big, overwhelming projects. Like this. Or this. His builds got so large and ambitious, he told an interviewer honestly, they triggered a nervous breakdown. Took him more than a year to recover.

This project, for the Clerkenwell Design Week in London, takes a different tack: it’s an elegant riff on one of his best known art works. But just a facade: light and airy. You can walk under it. It can be taken apart and moved to different sites.

So same Chinneck vision, but with a minimal vibe.
