HOW TO MAKE SHRINK FILM KEYCHAINS:
Apply a thin layer of acrylic paint to your child's hand. If the paint is old you may notice that it flakes when it bakes. I used Liquitex acrylic paint in this video, but I have used a number of brands over the years! Once the paint dries you can cut them out and add a hole with a hole puncher. If you'd like, your child can write their name, write a message, or draw a picture on their handprint in permanent marker. Their writing will shrink with the handprint. Place the handprint between two sheets of parchment paper. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes (I did 3 minutes in the video). The material will be hot when it is removed from the oven and still pliable for a few moments. Use this time to ensure it is flat when it fully hardens. To do this, you can place it on a counter or table and gently press it flat if needed. You can seal it with spray paint or mod podge for better protection. Then add the keychain and any embellishments that you would like.
