I recently aquired a collection of four “lady in motion” table lighters—two striker styles and two wheel styles (one in silver, one in bronze/gold). Their design grabbed me instantly, so I had to know the story.

It turns out they’re tied to Josef Lorenzl, a legendary Austrian Art Deco sculptor known for his elegant figures. These pieces may be originals, or they could be high-quality reproductions released later through the company that sold his work.

Either way, the history is incredible—art, design, and flame fused into collectible form.
