The Howard Beaumont Trio: Hammond Organ - Jazz Club Nights.

Howard Beaumont - For well over twenty years Howard has been the resident organist at the Scarborough Spa. He represents nothing less than another institution within our town's rich musical heritage!
On this recording he demonstrates his creative skills on the Hammond A.100 Organ along with the amazing combined efforts of Lee Adams on percussion and Gary Gillyett on jazz guitar.
'It was a cold November night when The Howard Beaumont Trio played a barnstorming gig at the Scarborough Jazz Club held at The Cask public house. Howard's annual outing for his beloved Hammond and Leslie speaker from the early sixties was handled carefully and wired up for a night to remember.
The boys were out to swing and swing was indeed the king that night! With Latin numbers like 'Ricardo', alongside out and out swingers such as 'Lover Come Back to Me', there is music for all tastes. Two lovely ballads 'Come Rain or Shine' and the Chet Baker classic 'You Don't Know What Love Is' make a nice contrast. There are references to great jazz organists of the past, namely Wild Bill Davies, Alan Haven and Jimmy Smith in Howard's interpretations. That's hardly surprising as he grew up with these guys. So, pour yourself a glass of whatever and share the evening with the Boys and those noisy 'Boys at the Back' that evening back in November 2008 at the Scarborough Jazz Club located at 'The Cask' public house off Ramshill Road.
