In 2011, a storm destroyed one of Wales’ tallest trees — a 209-foot Douglas fir.
Instead of letting it be forgotten, artist Simon O’Rourke carved its remains into a giant hand reaching toward the sky.
Now known as The Giant Hand of Vyrnwy, it stands as a symbol of nature’s strength, rebirth, and hope.
