The “Diva of Clay” has a mind of her own. For that reason I work through stages to get good end results.
This porcelain sculpture is press molded and altered. The process is carefully planned. In this case I did not plan it on paper as I often do. I “cut and pasted” various elements until I was happy with the end result.
The piece was created around the time that the Northern Lights gently “Kissed the Mississippi Skies”, so I decided that would be the title of this sculpted bowl. It is placed on an organically formed base and I am still working on it, getting it ready for the collectors market.
In the meantime I am also working on my next porcelain workshops. 2 will happen in my studio in Mississippi, but then I will be back in Europe in 2025 for a series of workshops, going from one country to the other, starting in April.

You know, one of my best experiences presenting workshops, is that I get to know potters, their interests, dreams and ideals and connect with them at the core of making art. As much as I have my whole career to offer, I am always learning and getting enriched by them in ways that cannot happen if I work in isolation.
If you are interested in attending or hosting a porcelain workshop, please contact me on my website.
