Dans la Grande salle, Sylvia Safdie transpose le contenu de son atelier, dont sa précieuse collection de minéraux et de végétaux, à l’occasion de l’exposition As I Walk. Situé à quelques pas de la Fonderie Darling, l’atelier de Safdie est un des magnifiques derniers petits bastions industriels transformés en ateliers d'artistes, en péril aujourd’hui. À travers ce geste symbolique, la Fonderie Darling a voulu souligner la grande perte des bâtiments industriels dans le quartier, non seulement pour le patrimoine architectural, mais aussi pour les artistes qui y trouvaient des espaces de travail essentiels pour exercer leur art.

In the Main Hall, Sylvia Safdie transposes the contents of her studio, including her precious collection of minerals and plants, for the exhibition As I Walk. Located just steps away from the Fonderie Darling buildings, Safdie's studio is one of the last small industrial bastions to be transformed into artist studios, now under threat. Through this symbolic gesture, Fonderie Darling wanted to emphasize the great loss of industrial buildings in the neighbourhood, a loss not only of architectural heritage, but also for artists who have found ideal working spaces for making art in these buildings.
