A PERFECT ENDING TO A NEAR PERFECT SERIES! In this Mom & Daughter Reacts video, Tessa (Mama’s Geeky) and Lorie react to Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 8, the long-awaited series finale — and the Duffer Brothers absolutely nailed it. This was the perfect ending for The Party, delivering epic action, emotional payoffs, devastating sacrifices, and heartfelt goodbyes that had us crying, cheering, and saying thank you to this incredible show. Let’s start with the chaos: the fake-out deaths of Steve and Dustin were NOT okay. Our hearts fully stopped, and we genuinely thought we were about to lose one (or both) of them. Thankfully, they survive — but wow, that emotional whiplash hurt. The final battle with Vecna and The Mind Flayer was nothing short of EPIC, with massive action sequences, stunning visuals, and a sense of scale that felt worthy of the show’s legacy. One of the most brilliant writing choices was learning more about Henry Creel / Vecna and confirming that he never wanted redemption. His admission that he chose not to resist — that he wanted to join forces with the Mind Flayer — made him an even more chilling villain. It reinforced that this wasn’t a story about saving him… it was about stopping him. We loved seeing how everyone’s lives play out in the end, especially Dustin’s valedictorian speech, which was an absolute standout moment. Honoring Eddie Munson and the Hellfire Club was powerful, emotional, and so perfectly Dustin. And yes — Joyce and Hopper getting engaged is the ending we always wanted for them. About time. The most devastating moment of all, though, was Eleven’s sacrifice. Watching her give everything to stop the cycle — and realizing her one and only kiss with Mike this season was their goodbye — completely wrecked us. Still, just like The Party, we choose to believe she’s alive, somewhere peaceful, somewhere happy… maybe even in a town with at least one waterfall. The final image of Holly, Derek, and their friends taking over the D&D table was the perfect full-circle moment. The legacy lives on. Stranger Things didn’t just end — it passed the torch.

The incredible cast delivers career-defining performances, including Millie Bobby Brown (Enola Holmes) as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) as Mike, Noah Schnapp (The Peanuts Movie) as Will, Gaten Matarazzo (Honor Society) as Dustin, Caleb McLaughlin (Concrete Cowboy) as Lucas, Sadie Sink (The Whale) as Max, Joe Keery (Free Guy) as Steve, Maya Hawke (Do Revenge) as Robin, Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice) as Joyce, David Harbour (Black Widow) as Hopper, and Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd, Twilight) as Vecna.

We will miss you, Stranger Things.
Thank you for the journey.
