Widely regarded as one of the greatest singers of India, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam won six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer for his works in four different languages; Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. My 5th Album is dedicated to this legendary singer who has entertained millions of music lovers with his mellifluous singing.

Some PRICELESS GEMS of instructions for music learners by Late SPB Sir:

1. Don't practice full songs. Practice bits till you perfect it. Keep looping the bits and keep on listening to it. I casually sing 10 hours a day!
2. Never look at the lyrics book and sing. Memorize the song and render.
3. Always go fully prepared when you sing, especially duets. Your mistakes disturb and disorient your co-singer. It's disrespect to them.
4. Not Knowing music and not learning music are two different things. Not everyone knows music (they may have not learnt from a Guru traditionally) but everyone CAN learn music by watching the great singers. My strength is practical singing, but I'm zero theoretically.
5. I smoked and drank heavily for 20 years. But nicotine formation on the vocal cords affect voice - shivering, can't sing higher scale, and loss of feeling. I gave it up fully. I advise other singers to avoid it.
6. Never give up an opportunity to talk to top singers. Use them! Always see, ask and learn.
7. Do NOT try to change voice for different songs for different actors! Use your voice. Mohd. Rafi sahab, who is my idol and 1000 miles higher than me, never changed his voice! He always sang with due respect to lyrics, feel and tune.
8. Use technology limitedly. Do it the old way. Sit with singers and musicians and discuss music. Spend time in discussion.
9. "What I have to do, I have to do! But what I get is what I deserve!" So deserve before you desire.
10. "Inspite of being a topmost singer, with 1000s of songs rendered, I still was called for an audition by Laxmikant Pyarelal (Ek Duje Ke Liye). I attended the audition! LP were not happy but finally LP said there are no singers today in India, except one - SPB!" So throw your ego out and grab opportunities to associate with greats.
11. Lata and P. Susheela were unique and great. But I was most influenced by S Janaki & Rafi Sahab. Expressions is the most prominent quality in singing. I love emoting while singing. Always, Always focus most on EXPRESSION!
12. Practicing a little mimicry is useful. Helps voice modulation in a few songs where dialogues appear. Brings authenticity. But keep it to a minimum.
13. Try practicing singing songs of languages that is unfamiliar or uncomfortable to you. It helps you find new dimensions to your singing. You work that much harder and deeper.
14. If you feel you are not doing any justice to any song inspite of best efforts, leave it rather than spoiling it. You are not meant to sing every song.
15. Art is bigger than any artiste. Small fights are common among artistes. But don't make it so big that eventually Art suffers because of you. Walk across to the other artists and clear the misunderstanding.
Long Live SPB Garu...you will continue to live amongst us with your mellifluous singing Sir! Rest In Peace Sir!
Hope you like this album. Please do listen when you have time. The soundtrack for my songs is thanks to the Karaoke tracks of StarMaker which helped me record these songs and I hope it is pleasing to hear for all music lovers.
If you like my style of singing, do like and give your comments. Also do share the link with your friends. Please do subscribe to this channel and I promise you to share more albums in the coming days of other singers also.
