South Africans say they have been asked to complete a general knowledge test in Afrikaans before being allowed to board flights to and from the United Kingdom on the Irish budget airline, Ryanair. The airline says it has made some passengers take the questionnaire because "it has a responsibility to ensure that passengers are correctly documented". The UK and Irish governments have distanced themselves from the questionnaire, saying it is not an official entry requirement.
