En attendant Œdipe est un solo usant de l’art clownesque, du mime et du jeu d’acteur avec improvisation pour revisiter la pièce Œdipe-roi de Sophocle. Dans une approche où le 4e mur n’existe plus, où le public est mis à contribution et même fait partie de la mise en scène, le spectacle se promet de remettre en question ce que l’on connait du mythe qui a fondé la psychologie moderne !

Entre le cours sur la mythologie et la performance dramatique, le spectacle se veut tout autant divertissant par les élans du clown, qu’honnêtement tragique par les interprétations du roi de Thèbes (en joual) qui fait face à son destin. Le spectacle est d’une durée de plus ou moins une heure selon la volonté des « dieux » du théâtre.

En attendant Œdipe is a solo performance that blends clowning, mime, and acting with improvisation to revisit Sophocles' Oedipus Rex. In an approach where the fourth wall no longer exists, where the audience is engaged and even becomes part of the staging, the show promises to challenge everything we know about the myth that shaped modern psychology!

Somewhere between a mythology lecture and a dramatic performance, the show is both entertaining, through the impulses of the clown, and genuinely tragic, through the portrayal of the King of Thebes (in joual) as he faces his fate. The performance lasts approximately one hour, depending on the will of the "theatre gods."
