Today we take you to see the works of Romanian artist Bogdan Vladuta. He is holding his first exhibition in Taiwan. The exhibition showcases over 20 of his most representative oil paintings which were inspired by his travels in Rome. FTV reporter Stehany Yang takes us in for a look!
Bogdan Vladuta’s first solo exhibition in Taiwan, “Nostalgia Around a Self-Portrait,” is a reflection of his travels in Rome. Many of his works that he created were inspired by Vincent van Gogh. This work, “The Boat,” is about Vincent van Gogh’s life after his death.

Artist
We have van Gogh in person. Very symmetrical standing like that as if he has been crucified.
This work is called "Museum.” It was inspired by a Roman antique painting.
Bogdan Vladuta
Artist
I have started this museum after an image of a roman antique painting, inside a perfect shape in order to remind that the human shape is the perfect shape from creation.
Vladuta is a Romanian artist. He studied painting at the Bucharest National University of Arts. After that, he traveled to Rome to further his education. The trip helped him discover the connection between the Renaissance, Christianity, and his art.
Queena Chu
Curator
We met him last year in March. He is a very good artist. This is a visual essay that he reflects himself and his contradictory, non-linear, and centered on his self-analysis.
Vladuta’s exhibition will be held at Mind Set Art Center till Aug. 2.
