Otherwise, I had the supreme pleasure of getting to do a review of Roger's top of the line Cleveland series kit, and it did not disappoint. Top to bottom this kit was everything you would expect from a top of the line drum set. The shells, and bearing edges were flawless, as was the green sparkle wrap. The build, lug casings, hoops, and hardware were rock solid. Most importantly THE TONES WERE INCREDIBLE! Their literature says these drums play a size up, and they are not lying. I tuned the 16" floor tom, and 13" tom to pitches that I consider to be high on any other drums of this size I have tuned, yet still the depth of tones from these drums was incredible. This reflects the craftsmanship that went into these drums, and backs up their statement that these are made of the finest grade maple/poplar plys instead of just laminate plys. All this makes me understand the high price tag. So if you are looking for that classic Rogers 5 ply sound in a new kit, look no further than the Cleveland series. If you are looking for a great sounding workhorse snare at a good prive btw, I cannot recommend this 6.5" x 14" PowerTone enough. It crushed this video like it crushes EVERY tuning I throw at it.
