Robots Invented By Leonardo Da Vinci, Not Only Monalisa Painting

Da Vinci's Knight Robot
People know Leonardo da Vinci as a painter. But few know that Leonardo da vinci was also a scientist. He is the one who designed the first humanoid robot in history.
In 1957, a researcher named Carlo Pedretti found several sketchbooks of Leonardo da Vinci that contained notes about the design of a mechanical knight.

In 1495, Leonardo da Vinci showed his mechanical knight, the machine could move like a human.

This armor robot can sit, wave its arms, and move its head while moving its jaw and neck and can sit, stand, lie down, to walk automatically and make sounds to the accompaniment of automatic musical instruments such as drums.

The robot is moved by pulleys to create the illusion as if there are real people inside. The Leonardo da Vinci robot uses two complex and connected systems consisting of pulleys, cables, gears, and wheels to move.

This mechanical knight figure is touted as the first humanoid robot in history. The robot may have been commissioned by the authorities as entertainment or exhibition. But what is mysterious is that the completed sketch of the knight robot was never found.

Da Vinci's Lion Robot
mechanical lion robot. This lion is like a robot knight who is able to move and walk, even supposedly can hold and offer flowers.
So a compartment in the lion's chest will automatically open and reveal a fleur-de-lis (lily/lily) in honor of the French monarchy.

This robot lion according to the story is a request from Guilliano de Medici who asked da Vinci to design it and will be presented as a gift to King Louis XII of France. Da Vinci made it in the late 1400s. The artificial mechanical lion was lifelike in size and was designed to walk up the stilts of the king's palace.

In 2009, the French museum, Chateau du Clos Luce and Parc, built a modern version of Leonardo's robot lion. Robotic artist Renato Boaretto took inspiration from da Vinci's lion and created his own version, one that walks, swings its tail, moves its jaws, and of course has a secret chamber that opens to open a bouquet of flowers.

Da Vinci Robot Car
The da Vinci car, is a robot with a self-programmable set of instructions. The robot moves like a car that is the first programmable analog computer record in the history of human civilization. Self-propelled wagons or self-propelled artillery.

Designed around 1478 and is one of the many inventions made by da Vinci relating to means of locomotion and modes of transport.
The da Vinci wagon was an early modern car that was also equipped with steering and brake capabilities. When the brakes are released, the car will move forward.
