Rhoda Got A Haircut!

It was the right time of year, according to the research I had done, to finally give Rhoda a haircut. Rhoda was tiny when I moved here, but she's grown very big and strong in the last almost 19 years. I've never trimmed her or done anything, she's just been growing. Lots of boughs and branches going all over the place, and she was becoming obtrusive. Practically extending into the slime area! And that's simply not good, it was layer after layer after layer.

Some of these were big branches. Thought about getting out one of the chainsaws, but decided instead to see if Cyndi was available to help with the yard work. Indeed, Cyndi came out and we had a great time working in the backyard together! There was one section of Rhoda that was too tall for me. Even with Cyndi standing on my shoulders, we just weren't tall enough. Have to get a ladder for that.

I also raked out from underneath Rhoda, but had to stop partway through, because all of my garbage cans were filled up. I came back a few days later and did the rest.

Also of course raked out the garden area, that looks so much better, and cleaned up any residual dead wood from last year. Cleaned up every last area in the backyard except for the hoard, which I will also get back to. But I need to get the hose reels charged up, snowblower out of gas, and start mowing! That will be coming soon.
