Port of Spain must not fall! This, from the Mayor of Port of Spain, Joel Martinez, as spoke about protests which took place in the capital city and other areas of T&T.
At a Sod Turning Ceremony on Thursday, he said the good work of the police, both city and national, kept matters well in hand as the protesters attempted to get to the heart of the city.
Mayor Martinez said during the incident, roads were blocked but the police were able to clear things quickly. He acknowledged, however, that the city's commerce was affected.
He said moving forward, Trinidad and Tobago will continue to work to preserve the capital city and to strategise to keep it a successful place for business and community.
