ILOCOS NORTE, WHAT AN AWESOME PROVINCE!

I slept in Paoay - home to a UNESCO World Heritage Church, built with huge buttresses to protect against earthquakes.

This province is at the mercy of nature - but they handle it so well.

In Bacarra, I discovered more awesome Ilocano food, and the friendliness of those who I'd just met!

Onwards through Bangui, where I battled gale force storms last time - this part was OK, but Pagudpud had suffered recently - especially the area around the Blue Lagoon.

Which explains why many took shelter inland - 12km from the coast, is Adams, a town of one barangay and only 2000 people - but with its own fruit wine industry. An Isnag tradition of old, every household produces their own - and there are not only two "professional" producers but also many backyard winemakers!

Adams is a great small town with a great vibe - the wine helps too! And I was so happy to explore their industry more.
