Tchaikovsky's Children's Album is un unparalleled treasury of pedagogical works for introducing the young pianist to the Romantic Style, especially the Russian Piano School. In this series of videos, Dr. Svetlana Belsky discusses the pianistic and interpretive challenges of each one and suggests solutions. "March of the Toy Soldier" is the 5th work in the cycle according to original manuscript order. It is also known as "March of the Wooden Soldiers" and "The Toy Soldiers' March". This short fragment discusses playing the repeated notes.
