On Friday November 19, 2022 these talented high school from the PXU district visited Phoenix College to attend an Instrumental Music Masterclass to work with PC faculty on preparing their audition etudes for district and regional honor ensembles. After the masterclass portion on traditional concert percussion instruments (xylophone, timpani, and snare drum) we had fun putting together this little chamber ensemble called "Awesome Sauce" by Wes Hawkins. The students learned and recorded this in about 40 minutes. It was a blast, and I hope that the students will find their way back to PC someday to play in PC Pan Groove, or PCPE, our traditional percussion ensemble.
