The Beauty of Carnival Float is heightened in the animated parts – those parts that move in the process of the display. In 2018 Passion 4 interpreted the central theme of Carnival Calabar “Africanism” with the sub-theme: Alkebulan II: Our Roots, Hooks and Hopes. The main float was labeled “Africa Renaissance”. There was a large animated head of a lion at the front of the float; a replica of the Africa renaissance sculpture at the middle and a traditional royalty throne at the back, with many moving parts. Glamorous and popular African motifs and artifacts were used as decoration and space fillers. This was another creative artistic product by Esekong Andrew-Essien and the Colourline Design Team. Musical accompaniment by BeatsbyDrew – If it ain’t Drew, it ain’t dope.
