Fabian Oefner is a Swiss artist celebrated for his experimental fusion of science and art. With a background in photography and an eye for the invisible forces of nature, his work often captures fleeting moments, whether it's sound waves, centrifugal motion, or chemical reactions, frozen in time with precision and beauty.

In his Volumen series, Oefner reimagines the traditional brushstroke as a sculptural object. Inspired by the gestural intensity of Abstract Expressionists like de Kooning and Pollock, he lifts thick, vibrant strokes of paint off the canvas and suspends them mid-motion within transparent resin cubes. These “floating” gestures become three-dimensional paintings, frozen in space and viewable from all angles.
