The Modi Government i.e. the Central Government has given notice to 27 senior artists of the country to vacate the government house. These artists include Padma Vibhushan honoured Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj as well as artists like Jatin Das, Rita Ganguly, Ustad F. Vasifuddin Dagar, Pandit Bhajan Sopori. The government has asked all these artists to vacate the government-alloted houses latest by December 31. Senior Kathak artist Pandit Birju Maharaj, who has been honoured with Padma Vibhushan, has issued an audio message appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to think about his age and his contribution in the field of art and classical dance.
