Government continues to work towards finding ways to assist musicians who continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to a question in the Upper House on Tuesday, Minister of Tourism Culture and Arts, Randall Mitchell, said his Ministry has encouraged artistes to take advantage of hosting virtual events, all in keeping with COVID-19 protocols. He said such events can be promoted abroad and can also be monetised.
He said for Creatives who are usually involved and are affected by the cancellation of Carnival 2021, his Ministry stands ready to assist with the streaming of virtual events.
Minister Mitchell said there is also good news for musicians as well. He said Music TT has pledged to support recording artistes.
